It'south interesting to see and then many loftier scores. The original Xenoblade wasn't a critical wonder fifty-fifty if information technology'south one of my all time favourite games.

Information technology's interesting to see and so many loftier scores. The original Xenoblade wasn't a critical wonder even if information technology's ane of my all time favourite games.

The original Xenoblade got a 92 on metacritic. If that'due south not a wonder I don't know what is.

Very surprised at the scores. I expected mostly 7'south and 8's, but this is cracking. Congrats to Nintendo and Monolith!

I'd be buying from South Africa as money is important, think information technology unlocks EU time at that place?

Hey, PM me when you find an answer to this. I know it's impaired, but I decided to re-buy information technology from there or the AUS eshop lol, I want to play today.

That Gamespot review is confusing. Information technology's glowing and making XC2 audio like an first-class game but they requite it a 7. I mean 7 is a expert score merely not like this is amazing score.

So what is the general consensus on handheld mode? That would be the only mode I play it in.

I call back Xenoblade Chronicles 1 finished with a 91+ rating. It got great reception.
  • #161
Please don't turn this thread into a chase virtually what games Jason loved or didn't love. He hasn't even posted his review yet.

Expect, XB2 is releasing tonight? Those reviews look stellar, was expecting a whole lot less. If this game is similar to Chronicles, I'm all over information technology.
May or may not be a midnight release. I'chiliad not besides sure, but I wouldn't incertitude midnight. Preloads have been available all month.
  • #163
Which is kinda strange, since the review reads like a 8.5 to ix. But then, there is that vii

This is why yous read the review and don't pay too much attention to the score.

  • #164
Sounds similar a game that will please the fans of the genre only will do very little to expand the fanbase.

I'm actually tempted to buy information technology.

  • #165
Regarding Jason, I don't understand people reviewing sequels to games they did not bask. Go someone else to do it, that either didn't play the first or kinda liked it.

Seems silly to me personally.

It's a fleck like, if he'd liked this game but non the original it'd been noteworthy but since he doesn't similar both it's mostly helpful for people like him who didn't similar the first either. Then defo helpful for some people in the same situation.

I hateful I nevertheless don't understand how X's combat organization works but I invested close to 100 hrs in that game. Loved the mechs and the open up earth.

Yeah, clunkiness is expected but whatever I fucking dear this serial.

Hey, PM me when you find an answer to this. I know it's dumb, simply I decided to re-purchase it from there or the AUS eshop lol, I want to play today.
I think Odyssey unlocked for me around midnight (Germany) when I bought it from in that location. Of course, it might be different for dissimilar games.

What?

This game doesnt demand universal astroturfing. Im all for reading his thoughts on the game as an quondam schoolhouse JRPG histrion whose tastes marshal with his

Press Jason dear semi garbage similar FFXV but non this ane? LOL
Jonneh
  • #175
Permit's not disregarded Schreier'south views. We should embrace different opinions and Jason's review could very well resonate with a reader who would otherwise exist let down by the game. That's what reviews are all about, if they were all the same and so at that place would be a existent problem.
  • #176

Printing Jason beloved semi garbage like FFXV just not this one? LOL

I guess I shouldn't look for his opinion when it comes to JRPG.
Blayde
  • #177
Why do people think a 7/10 is a bad score lol...

Scores overall are looking pretty good. Was getting this game regardless, but good to come across its doing well.

Datajoy

Schreier doesn't like JRPG's. His review means zilch.

Makes sense to me. Not everyone volition have enjoyed the starting time game. For those people, seeing what someone who didn't like the first game thinks of the 2d will exist useful to them deciding whether to try the second or not.

I retrieve Odyssey unlocked for me around midnight (Federal republic of germany) when I bought it from there. Of course, it might exist different for dissimilar games.

Well that's non gonna help me lol, my own Finnish copy is unlocking at midnight besides.

Hmm. HMM. I'chiliad gonna feel like an idiot if I rebuy the game from the AUS eshop and it won't unlock for me before midnight or something lol.

  • #181
Let's be honest. None of you guys are gonna intendance much virtually Jason'south review becuase they don't give number reviews. Thus non effecting the Sacred Metascore.

So if your not interested in reading his opinions. But ignore it. he play it, he said what he had to say and let'due south respect that.

  • #182
I bought from South Africa shop and pre-downloaded, i think it unlocks at the fourth dimension set in your business relationship
It unlocks at midnight in South Africa, I did the aforementioned with Odyssey.

Thanks for including us on the first folio, OP. We're preparing the article-version later, but if you need a quote, you tin can utilize this if you want:
Verdict:
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 sends Nintendo off with a blindside in 2017, joining the likes of Zelda and Mario equally big, open up-world, must accept adventures. I am still impressed that they got this game running on the Switch, even if they had to make some cutting-backs to do information technology. The gameplay feels fresh but as well familiar to veteran players with plenty of new additions to fill in the void of removed content. And, so far, the story has been wonderful. Each affiliate so far has absorbed and intrigued me. Each of the characters has been likeable and a blast to utilize, fifty-fifty with some questionable vox acting, and all the Blades are well designed. Except for Pyra's shorts because those are barely even hot pants. I mean seriously, I'm ok with some fan service designs now and over again if they are tactful only those wait mad uncomfortable. While I might observe Pyra'southward choice of clothes confusing, you can trust me that with this game every bit a whole I was really feeling it.

four.v/5

That Gamespot review is disruptive. Information technology's glowing and making XC2 sound like an first-class game but they give it a seven. I mean seven is a practiced score but not like this is amazing score.
Yea very weird

its similar they wanna lower the score or something.

Why the hell did Jason go the review if he didn't like the first game?

A JRPG fan shouldn't review JRPGs?
Cranston
  • #192
Gamespot kinda stings but the rest seems to be in line with what i predicted

Peter Brown is a good guy though and I like his reviews. The Xeno games can certainly exist opaque and information technology reads like legitimate criticism. Plus, there are loads of positive takes too.

Tin can't expect! Reading the gamespot review reminds me of my first time playing Xenoblade 1. It didn't click every bit much but enjoyable. Organization a bit confusing with a disruptive tutorial. But and then replaying on my new 3ds however, i got a new perspective and it became a favorite of mine. Seriously pumped for this

Attacking Jason because his opinion is dissimilar and non by countering his arguments (which would mean actually waiting for the review to be posted) or maxim that he shouldn't review it if he doesn't admire the series is quite idiotic.

  • #196
A JRPG fan shouldn't review JRPGs?
Why, and so he can shit on it? We already know his feelings on Xenoblade. Let someone with a fresh perspective requite it a shot.

Guys then he doesn't like it. It'due south fine. Not every game volition be for everyone. Nosotros should nevertheless take his input. It's valid just like the positive reviews out there.

Simply let'southward not make this review thread solely about his and the less than positive reviews. We should exist discussing all reviews civilly. The thread won't become well if we do then otherwise.

Printing Jason love semi garbage like FFXV merely not this one? LOL
Come across? Similar this sort of posts. Don't freaking do this okay?

That Gamespot review is confusing. It's glowing and making XC2 sound like an excellent game but they give it a seven. I mean 7 is a expert score but not like this is amazing score.

It seems similar the reviewer really disliked a lot of the QOL issues. I guess that weighted more heavily for him than for others.

Information technology'due south hardly glowing. He likes the game a lot, but notes a ton of problems that enough of people are going to struggle to get over. It'south a good review, which isn't surprising, since it'south from Peter Brown.
